A Very Merry Kamigawa Christmas Indeed!
Some of you might remember last year when our infant son Liam played Santa for Daddy. Well, a year on he’s grown quite a bit, but he’s just as eager to spread some holiday joy!
Whispers of the Muse: Jadson dos S’s Carnival Of Blood (INN)
One of the things that preconstructed decks are great for is to serve as the foundation for doing a little deckbuilding of your own. When the deck has a very intriguing theme and a good core of cards, it becomes a lot of fun nipping here, tucking there until you have the deck you’re excited to play.
Contest: A Very Kamigawa Christmas
How many of you never quite seem to get enough Magic: the Gathering under the tree each year? As some of you know this past week Ertai’s Lament hit a major milestone- half a million views since we began! And so we present our latest giveaway.

Welcome to the New Ertai’s Lament
By now you might have noticed that we’ve gotten a bit of a facelift! Upgrading our appearance and functionality have been an ongoing project for us, and we hope you enjoy the new easier-to-read layout. We’ll continue to improve the site, with the eventual goal of getting self-hosted so we can have pop-up card links like all the fancy sites. But in the meantime, have a look around and let us know what you think. We’ll still continue to bring you the same content as before… and tomorrow we lead off with a review of the Innistrad Event Decks!
Whispers of the Muse: Spectral Legions (Innistrad)
Welcome to the first Whispers of the Muse piece for Innistrad. This week we’ve received not one, but two requests for a second look at Spectral Legions, the Blue/White ‘skies’ deck featuring some of the many Spirit-centered cards on offer. Let’s see what they had to say. Our first letter comes from Bradley B, who had the following to say:
2010-11 Precon Championships: We Have a Winner
When we first began the Preconstructed Deck Championships a year ago, we knew we wanted to get to a place with it that engaged you, the reader, but we weren’t quite certain how. We gave it some further thought the next time, for the 2009-10 Champions, and were encouraged when a number of you continued to leave predictions for each match. Third time lucky, as they say, we’re thrilled with the format- and turnout- for this inaugural contest event, and you can be sure we’ll be doing it this way going forward.
News: Wizards Spoils Innistrad Event Decks
If you haven’t seen them yet, head on over to today’s Arcana on the mothership for the strategy and decklists for Deathfed and Hold the Line! With a release date of 10/29, you can be certain we’ll be giving them the full Ertai’s Lament treatment!
