And so it’s come to this. Thirty-two different preconstructed decks from the past season entered the arena, looking to prove which one of them would have the right to declare itself Champion. For the victor, eternal glory as its name was etched in the lore of the site. For the losers, a sinking into anonymity, as antagonist’s in another deck’s story. We’ve had twenty-eight different matches to get here, and now only four decks await their destiny.
Just as much of the modern Battlestar Galactica television series focuses on the drama of the “hidden” Cylons and their revealing, today the final deck which will be competing next week for the Championship will be revealed. Thus far, three of the four decks have emerged from the stramash of their respective divisions, rising above adversity and defeating their rivals’ every challenge. They eagerly await the arrival of the fourth, as it means the contest will come to its conclusion.
Only two weeks remain until the 2011-12 Preconstructed Championships draw to a close with the crowning of a winner, and this past weekend saw us move one step closer to seeing a victor in the last of the four divisions, the Lauer. An Intro-Pack-heavy field went to battle with a pair of premium decks, and at the end of it only four emerged from the fray.
As of today, three divisions have been claimed by the best of the eight decks that form them. Two of these are sizing one another up, getting ready for the battle to claim the Rosewater Conference. The other eagerly awaits the outcome of this last division, the Lauer. Today, the field will be cut down by half, when eight decks enter the field of glory, and four are carried off in defeat.
We’re rounding the bend with the home stretch before us as we move closer each week to crowning a Champion from the 2011-12 season! We’ve had some exciting matches, filled with the sturm und drang we have come to expect from these competitions season after season, year after year. Thus far, we have not been disappointed!
As of today, three will be settled, and only one shall remain.
For those fighting to the last in the Prediction League, these are heady days. As we move week to week towards our final goal of determining a preconstructed Champion for the 2011-2012 Season, every point is crucial. A fourth of the way through the Forsythe, four decks have advanced. Now that the dust has settled and the arena floor mopped…how does the field look now?
Season after season in accordance with tradition, the Rosewater Conference opens the Preconstructed Championships while the Forsythe Conference watches and waits. With the contest now halfway through, it must wait no longer. Today we begin the painful, contentious task of whittling down the field of sixteen down to a single deck to represent the Conference in the Finals.
