News: Theros Intro Pack Rares Revealed!

by Dredd77

Ordinarily spoilers for the Intro Packs have come in two waves. First, we get a look at the deck packaging, letting us see the rares and names of the decks. Then, later, we get the fill deck list spoiled. Today, the mothership had something a little different for us- just the Intro Pack rares.

Still, it was a first look at a couple of new mechanics. First, there’s bestow, which lets you choose between casting a creature as a creature, or casting it as an aura. Then there’s devotion, which is the much-hinted-at return of an existing mechanic, chroma, that didn’t work quite so well the first time around. Head on over and check them out!

These are quite exciting. Still not entirely sure about Monstrosity, seems too expensive but for my taste, but Devotion is VERY nice. If the rest of the black deck is half-decent that’ll definitely be the one I pick up.
Also Ertai, will there be a Precon championship rolling around sometime for the most recent sets? I know it’s a helluva busy time for you guys but I was really looking forward to it, been a great batch of decks over the last year!

Looking forward to the set. The mechanics are really interesting.

Though HvM was a bit of a lead down list wise. Looks a bit more random than past Duel Decks. First Duel Deck I’m just not digging. I’m sure it’ll be fun, but I think I’ll replace more of its cards with the new block stuff than I have in the past with the Duel Decks.

Not a very meaty post, I admit, but it’s good to see you’re alive! 🙂

So sad this site is now almost dead… Is it all because of the store?
