Today on the mothership, the box art for the forthcoming Duel Decks: Ajani vs Nicol Bolas was revealed. Also shown are the two new alternate-art planeswalker cards themselves, putting an end to the speculation as to which version of Ajani would drive the deck (hint: Boros).
Head on over and check it out!

Me wants!
Oh, look at the deck box for the actual decks. On the top, you can see the colors for the 2 decks. Now, I’m really excited.
Eagerly waiting the list. Going to be interesting to see how they balance ’em out.
Okay, we know Bolas’s colors, but this puts an end to the guessing what Ajani’s would be. Like the choice they made.
If you can spot it, there’s a green mana symbol on top of Ajani’s deck box, so it’s Naya vs Grixis.
Yup. Saw that, but I didn’t want to come out and say it.
can’t wait to see the boros vs grixis matchup. my guess is that the ajani pilot needs to end the game quickly before the bolas pilot mana fixes sufficiently and casts spells such as cruel ultimatum.
It’s the Boros version of Ajani, but the deck itself is actually Naya. Shard vs shard here we come!
Ahh my mistake. Well I guess we can expect shard specific cards such as Jungle Shrine + Crumbling Necropolis, the charms, etc.
Almost certainly. Looking forward to it, I [heart] Crumbling Necropolis.
I can’t wait for release of it. I just hope I’ll get in atleast 2 Slave of Bolas and that they won’t have new art. And of course, that current price of Bolas will drop, I’m going to want a second one.
I’m hoping both come with an alternate art of the Ultimatums. Though an alt Slave of Bolas would rock too.
Hopefully this deck won’t skyrocket in price like EvT did. I’m betting not, but if I have to wait for Walmart to get them, I will.
I guess they won’t, due to the fact that the planeswalkers featured are more popular with casual players than with the pros. For Elspeth, of course, the case was different …
True. it’s still under MSRP on Coolstuffinc too. EvT was way up at this point.
If they feature the two Ultimatums in order to add symmetry to the decks, they will have to turn down the pace to give the chance of having them hardcast. Therefore, I expect long-lasting, thrilling duels – yes!
