New ‘Magic Beyond the Box,’ and new Event Decks!
Two bits of news today!
1. Magic Beyond the Box took a break last week from the Precon Buyer’s Guide to talk about the New Phyrexia intro decks, but those who have been following the Buyer’s Guide will be pleased to know that it’s back today. The ‘Vintage’ Era covers from Judgment all the way back to Tempest, and is filled with retailer’s prices, tidbits, and trivia for each set. Come check it out!
2. Today on the mothership the New Phyrexia Even Decks were spoiled, and the lists look very promising! Unlike the first go-round for Mirrodin Besieged (Into the Breach and Infect & Defile), this time both decks have the appearance of quality, and will be very exctiting to see. And in case anyone was wondering- yes, there will be an Event Deck giveaway, so stay tuned!
Those two event decks are just wow. Though the trailer for M12 trumps it for me.
Where will you buy your event decks? I’m eager to grab War of Attrition because I’m building a WWEquipment deck, and it needs that Puresteel Paladin and Stoneforge Mystic.
Everything new I always buy through my LGS, with whom I have a great relationship. Indeed, I wish they had a web presence so I could pimp them a bit more- they’ve always been really generous providing things for the site (see: the 3-month anniversary contest last year).
When they officially come out, you think I can buy one through you? I’m pretty sure my LGS will sell it for $50+
The only caveat I have is that there may be a limit on quantity if there’s a huge run at the store, in which case there might be a small delay. Barring that contingency, I’d be more than happy to assist! Check with your LGS, and if they look dodgy, shoot us an email and we’ll get you taken care of.
Another thought… I just saw the order prices on SCG. MSRP on each deck is $25. They want $30 for the White one, but only $20 for the Green one, and if you order both it’s only $40. This might be enough to keep your LGS honest. 😀
I would like to get a copy of the white one, but i don’t know what’s with WotC. Every page i go to preorder it says: “As an Authorized Internet Retailer of Wizards of the Coast, we may only ship sealed Magic: the Gathering products within the United States.”
The event decks not being printed in spanish, the only option is to get them in english, from the UK, where they cost too much.
If you could do it, i’d also gladly buy one through you.
PD: Anyone cares to explain that WotC policy?
I’ve been planning a deck based on Kemba using cats and equipment … seems like they’ve done it for me 🙂
That War of Attrition deck is amazing. I wonder whether the Stoneforges will make the deck’s price rise or the deck will drop the price of Stoneforge singles …
Looking at the last one, I bet the price will stay at MSRP. These look a little more solid, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see preorders above MSRP and a return to MSRP until supplies dwindle some. I really doubt either will be like Infect and Defile and actually sell for less than MSRP.
The white one is just juicy. The problem is: why are they printing the decks in all mayor languages except Spanish?! That’s going to make it difficult to get it at good price for me T T
Stoneforge mystic=]
I just saw that i won the Devouring Skies giveaway at Quiet Speculation. I can’t believe it yet. So lucky :d
I know this is random, but what set is rotating out and when?
With the fall set. So with Inwahtever. I think the Elderazi block and M11 are the ones leaving standard. Standard will be M12, Scars block, and the new one.
So it’s always fall with the latest core set, the last block and the new one.
Random question:
What does everyone store/transport their decks in? I’m not talking about sleeves and deck boxes. I’m talking beyond that. How do you store all those decks/precons you put into Ultra Pro deck boxes and all?
I ask because thanks to Duel Decks and such, I keep getting more decks in their Ultra Pro deck boxes. Could use some ideas on how to store them.
Myself, we store our decks in the longboxes that come in a fat pack. Two boxes per set will do (one holds 3 decks, the other 2 + the inserts). This makes the storage look nice as well as be convenient.
