Dark Ascension: Swift Justice Review (Part 1 of 2)
Taking its name from the guild representing the military and constabulary force present in the endless urban sprawl of Ravnica, Boros decks- those comprised of Red and White- are one of the more common archetypes amongst preconstructed Magic. Since the introduction of the Intro Pack, we’ve seen a wide variety of them already, and that’s not even counting those amongst the previous precon product, the theme decks.

As we head into the lengthening shadows of Dark Ascension, we look if there’s anything that can be done to help the hapless Humans of Innistrad to better prepare them for the coming horrors. Starting with the Intro Pack Repel the Dark, and using only Innistrad and Magic 2012 cards, indeed there seems to be quite a bit of room for improvement!

News: Dark Ascension Intro Packs Fully Spoiled
Hey folks, just a quick note to let everyone know that if they haven’t checked it out yet, the full Dark Ascension Intro Pack deck lists are up at the Magic Arcana today on the mothership. While the hover-over card images aren’t fully updated yet, you can still get a full look at what’s on offer!

Whispers of the Muse: Jackson P’s Repel the Dark (INN)
One of the great things about Intro Pack decks is how well they lend themselves to some rudimentary deckbuilding. Our Whispers of the Muse feature is dedicated to precisely that! With a deck idea submitted by a reader, we turn to the preconstructed community to offer ideas and suggestions on how to improve the deck. Today we return to Innistrad, with the Green/White Human tribal offering, Repel the Dark.

Happy New Year to everyone, and to kick off the cleanr slate each year brings we have a new Whispers of the Muse. If you’re a new reader to Ertai’s Lament, Whispers is a deckbuilding advice column for folks who are looking to base their decks off of a precon. What makes the column so fun is that the answers don’t come from one place, but rather throughout the readership of the site. Good news for fans of precon tinkering! Today we’re exploring the runt of Innistrad’s ghoulish litter, Deathly Dominion! A Black/Green deck built around the morbid mechanic, we judged this one to be the worst of the lot- and most in need of a makeover.
Whispers of the Muse: Jadson dos S’s Carnival Of Blood (INN)
One of the things that preconstructed decks are great for is to serve as the foundation for doing a little deckbuilding of your own. When the deck has a very intriguing theme and a good core of cards, it becomes a lot of fun nipping here, tucking there until you have the deck you’re excited to play.
