2007-2008 Precon Championships: Lauer Division (Part 1 of 2)
Come one, come all, to the greatest preconstructed spectacle on Dominaria and all the planes of the multiverse. That’s right, it’s time for the Preconstructed Championships to begin, and what a show we have for you today!
2007-08 Precon Championships: Round 7 and the Leaderboard
It’s a truism we’ve repeated many times, but to again borrow the well-worn expression from football, on any given Sunday, anything can happen. This past weekend saw a succession of unlikely events that only reaffirmed it.
2007-2008 Precon Championships: Turian Division (Part 2 of 2)
Bit by bit, week by week we draw ever closer to crowning a champion of the 2007-08 Season! We’ve come a fair ways already, crowning a winner of two of the four divisional champions- and today we’ll be crowning a third.
2007-08 Precon Championships: Round 6 and the Leaderboard
After a slight bump in the road, the Preconstructed Championships are back on track. It will take much more than a hetic week to sideline the power and the glory of a season’s worth of precon decks battling it out with eternal glory and supremacy, as they look to scribe their name in the book of champions.
2007-2008 Precon Championships: Turian Division (Part 1 of 2)
Welcome to the opening day of Forsythe Conference action! While the Preconstructed Championships are well underway, we’ve thus far been watching the Rosewater Conference unfold. Now, while Evincar’s Tyranny from Tenth Edition rests up for the battle against the Goblins from Duel Decks: Elves vs Goblins to decide which of the two is going to the Grand Final, we turn our attention to the other half of the field.
2007-08 Precon Championships: Round 5 and the Leaderboard
For the past three years or so that we’ve run Ertai’s Lament, we’ve done a pretty good job of not letting the events of life get in the way of publishing on schedule. That said, while we’ve still managed to post our deck reviews apace, something fell by the wayside this past week. As many of you know, Jimi is expecting twins, and this past week has given us a dreadful scare. Still, an ultrasound today revealed that “Moose and Squirrel” are coming along just fine, and our worst fears have been unfounded. Splendid news, but it does show where our focus has been this past week.
2007-2008 Precon Championships: Tinsman Division (Part 2 of 2)
We’re back with this weekends exciting precon action as the Tinsman Division comes to its dramatic conclusion. Last weekend we saw Morningtide’s Shamanism triumph over Going Rogue in a surprising upset, seeing the sturdy Treefolk more than a match for the sneaky tricks of the Rogues. Goblin-on-Goblin violence was at a high as Battle Blitz squared off against Boggart Feast, and lived to tell the tale. Meanwhile, the Goblins deck from the first-ever Duel Decks release wait in the wings alongside Shadowmoor’s Overkill, fresh from their bye. Today it all comes together.
2007-08 Precon Championships: Round 4 and the Leaderboard
It was a lighter- and more Goblin-filled- weekend than usual this past Sunday as we witnessed the opening round of the Tinsman Division. We had two matches up for grabs as our Prediction League players were vying for points. How many did they pick up? Good question.
2007-2008 Precon Championships: Tinsman Division (Part 1 of 2)
Welcome to the glorious Tinsman Division! We’ve all but settled the Nagle, and now it’s time to look at the other half of the Rosewater Conference. Thanks to a shortage of decks in the ’07-’08 season, there are two byes in the division. That means we have an abbreviated first round of action, with only two games to show for our weekend action. Still, that’s the end of the road for two of the decks- but which two will it be?
2007-08 Precon Championships: Round 3 and the Leaderboard
Welcome back to our ongoing coverage of the 2007-08 Preconstructed Championships! We’re now about a quarter of the way through, with this past weekend’s action having given us a winner of the Nagle Division. Evincar’s Tyranny proved a surprising upset that caught many of our predictors off-guard, but plenty of points were picked up all the same.
